Clarksville Parks & Recreation to host Pitch, Hit and Run Local Competition April 23rd

Clarksville Parks and RecreationClarksville, TN – Registration is under way for the Aquafina Pitch, Hit and Run. You may register your child at any of our three community centers or the Parks & Recreation main office on Public Square. Registration will also be accepted the day of the event.

This event will be held at Heritage Park Softball Fields at 10:00am on Saturday, April 23rd and there is no cost to participate.

Aquafina Pitch, Hit and Run

This is the official skills competition of Major League Baseball and includes the “Pitch” contest, which allows youth to attempt to throw strikes like big leaguers by pitching at a MLB Strike Zone.

The “Hit” contest is a chance for competitors to take a swing at home plate and be judged on distance and accuracy, just like in the Major League.

After pitching and hitting, comes the “Run” portion of the competition where participants start at second base and test their speed running to home plate.

Aquafina Pitch, Hit and RunThe competition is open to baseball enthusiasts ages 7-12, who will be divided by age and gender. Winning participants will have an opportunity to advance through four levels of competition with the final round ending at the National Finals at the 2011 MLB All-Star Game.
