Dance Force Receives Top Honors

The Dance ForceClarksville, TN – The Dance Force of Clarksville competition company, The Force, kicked off the 2011 season in a big way, bringing home 35 Platinum and 4 High Gold adjudications at Stage One’s regional dance competition in St. Louis, MO.

“The price of success is hard work, dedication to the job at hand, and the determination that whether we win or lose, we have applied the best of ourselves to the task at hand.”

Dancers and choreographers were additionally recognized with 10 Stage One judges’ choice awards, including highest scoring petite/junior dance and best costumes for “The Love Game Show,” The Force’s company-wide production, as well as a technical excellence award for the teen small group “Sun of A Gun.”

Placements included:

  • Destani Locklear with a first overall, Madelyn Bissell with a fourth overall, and Shianne Elkins with a ninth overall in the junior age division.
  • Elizabeth Copley with a third overall, Alex Tucker with a fourth overall, and Autumn Staats with a fifth overall in the teen age division.
  • Mykayla Gover with a fourth overall in the teen age division.
  • Natalya Bryant with a first overall and Payton Griffis with a second overall in the petite age division.
  • Alexis Fallon with a fourth overall in the senior age division.
  • “Say” with a fourth overall in the junior duet category.
  • “Include Me Out” with a third overall in the junior trio category.
  • “Bahama Cuties” with a second overall and “Get Up” with a third overall in the petite trio category.
  • “ABC’s of Love” with a first overall in the petite duet category.
  • “California Girls” with a first overall, “Wings on My Back” with a second overall and “Love is the Music” with a fifth overall in the junior small group category.
  • “Sonic Boom” with a first overall and “Not Me” with a third overall in the petite small group category.
  • “Book of Love” with a first overall, “The Creationist” with a second overall, “Beaty Bong” with a third overall, and “Lullaby” with a seventh overall in the junior large group category.
  • “Cho co latte’” with a first overall in the petite large group category.
  • “Planet Squeak” with a first overall in the petite line category.
  • “The Love Game Show” with a first overall in the junior line category.
  • “We So Fly” with a second overall in the teen line category.
  • “King of Glory” with a second overall in the senior small group category.
  • “Sun of a Gun” with a first overall and “Secret” with a fifth overall in the teen small group category.
  • “Don’t Call My Name” with a second overall and “Throw Me a Rope” with a fourth overall in the teen large group category.

Judges choice awards included: Solo Entertainment Award for Destani Locklear, Outstanding Costume for “Wings on My Back,” Outstanding Costume and Highest Scoring Petite/Junior Dance for “The Love Game Show,” Character Award for “Not Me,” Diva Award for “Sonic Boom,” Intensity Award for “Book of Love,” Showmanship Award for “Planet Squeak,” Costume Award for Elizabeth Copley,

Choreography Award for Autumn Staats solo choreographed by Mr. Morgan Burke, Choreography Award for “Secret,” choreographed by Ms. Missy Dray

Technical Excellence Award for “Sun of a Gun,” Intensity Award for “Throw Me a Rope,” and Outstanding Costume for “Dont Call My Name.”

Dancers additionally brought home $550.00 in cash prizes and Autumn Staats was awarded a Miss Stage One workshop scholarship and jacket.
