Panthers no match for Lady Govs tennisAPSU Women’s Tennis
After a shaky doubles performance against UT Martin, Friday, the Lady Govs were solid in winning the doubles point against the Panthers. They went on to win all five singles matches played, EIU’s only point coming as the Lady Govs defaulted at No. 6. ![]() Sophomore Carolin Weikard won her match againest Eastern Illinois' Jennifer Kim in straight sets Saturday afternoon on the Austin Peay Tennis Courts, Clarksville TN. Sophomore Carolin Weikard and freshman Kimberly Loo won 8-4 at No. 1 doubles. As the Lady Govs top doubles team, Weikard and Loo have been consistent with nine-straight wins throughout the season. At No. 2 doubles, junior Vanja Tomic and freshman Andra Cornea picked up an 8-4 win as well.
Weikard allowed only one match to EIU’s Jennifer Kim at No. 2, while freshman Rachel Margolis gave up four games in a straight-set win at No. 3. Cornea and Loo also won at Nos. 4 and 5.
