ACS New Parent Support Program Helps Reconnect after Deployment

Morale, Welfare and RecreationFort Campbell, KY – Young children’s concept of time is skewed and it is hard for them to grasp how long someone is away. With deployments there is a period of time when the Soldier must reconnect with their Family when they return. During this time children can have different reactions to the Soldier who is now a part of their life after such a long time away.

This readjusting period can be stressful for both the Family and the Soldier. Army Community Service New Parent Support Program is offering a parenting workshop on April 15th for parents of children ages 0 to 3 years to address the issues associated with reconnecting after deployment.

Come to the Family Resource Center (FRC) from 11:45am to 12:45pm to learn some tips and tricks to help ease the stress and get you reconnected with your child.

Pre-registration is required and childcare is available at no cost.

Space is limited so register early. All children must be registered with Child, Youth and School Services (CYSS). For more information or to register for the parenting workshop about reconnecting after deployment, please call ACS New Parent Support Program at 270-412-5500.
