Multiple Car Crash sends two to the Hospital

Clarksville Police DepartmentClarksville, TN – Around 11:53am, a driver that failed to stop collided with the rear of one vehicle forcing it into the vehicle in front of it.

Traffic was backed up and stopped southbound in the area of Brookside Drive and Fort Campbell Blvd. when a GEO Metro, driven by Jonathan Rivera, 19 in the left southbound lane crashed into the rear of a Ford Explorer driven by Donald Leaser, 59 forcing it to crash into the rear of a GMC Envoy, driven by Jodi Vaughn, 50.

There were no signs of vehicle braking at the scene. It has not yet been determined why Rivera’s vehicle crashed into the Ford Explorer. There was no indication of alcohol at the scene.

Additionally, several military members stopped and provided valuable medical assistance and traffic control to emergency responders on the scene.

Rivera was Lifeflighted to Vanderbilt with multiple leg fractures and Leaser was taken by ambulance to Gateway for possible back and neck injuries. Vaughn did not require medical assistance.

Charges are pending against Rivera. The lead investigator is Officer Bob Peterson, 931-648-0656, ext 7270.
