Crime Victims to be Honored at Clarksville Tree-Planting Event

National Crime Victims’ Rights Week Observance

Tennessee Board of Probation and Parole Nashville, TN – The Tennessee Board of Probation and Parole (BOPP) is honoring crime victims with a tree planting ceremony in Clarksville on Thursday, April 14th, in observance of National Crime Victims’ Rights Week.   

The event will take place Thursday afternoon, April 14th, 1:30pm CDT at the Board of Probation and Parole Office located at 100 Providence Boulevard, Clarksville.

Clarksville Mayor Kim McMillan is scheduled to deliver the keynote address. During the event, BOPP will also present a Voice for Victims Award to a local victim advocate.

This event is one of 12 tree planting events the Board of Probation and Parole is sponsoring in communities across Tennessee this week.

About The Board of Probation and Parole

The Board of Probation and Parole (www.tn.gov/bopp/) is an independent seven-member board whose members are appointed by the Governor.  The Board is charged with the responsibility of deciding which eligible felony offenders will be granted parole and released from incarceration to community-based supervision.  Along with the supervision of those granted parole, the Board is also responsible for supervising felony offenders who are placed on state-supervised probation by criminal courts.
