A strong cold front is expected to move across middle Tennessee during the evening hours on Friday. ahead of this cold front,strong southerly winds will develop along with increasing instability and moisture. With afternoon high temperatures around 70, and strong winds throughout the atmosphere severe thunderstorms may develop.
Damaging winds, large hail, and isolated tornadoes will be possible Friday afternoon and evening.
Heavy rainfall is expected with this storm system. Widespread amounts from one and one half to 2 and one half inches are expected,with 3 inches or more possible in a few locations.
Gusty winds will occur through the day. a wind advisory is in effect for Friday for frequent wind gusts around 40 mph.
