113 More Soldiers Return Saturday

 

Fort Campbell KY, 101st Airborne DivisionFort Campbell, KY –  It was a busy day at Campbell Army Airfield as four flights returned soldiers just in time for Easter Sunday. The last plane of the day carried 113 soldiers with the 1st Brigade Combat Team. 

Family and friends gathered just outside hanger 3 to cheer for their loved ones as they made way toward the crowd.

247 2nd BCT Soldiers Arrive in time for Easter

 

Fort Campbell KY, 101st Airborne DivisionFort Campbell, KY – It’s the third flight of the day that brings home 247 Soldiers with the 2nd  Brigade Combat Team home just in time for Easter Sunday with their families.  The excitement was in the air as the crowd spotted the airplane in the sky as it decended to Campbell Army Airfied Saturday evening. 

As the plane made it’s way in front of the waiting crowd, there were many cheers and shouts that they are now home.

Sounds Fall To Omaha In Easter Matinee, 7-3

 

Greinke Works 2 2/3 Innings In Rehab Start For Nashville

Nashville SoundsNashville, TN – The Nashville Sounds lost an Easter Sunday matinee to the division-rival Omaha Storm Chasers, falling 7-3 at Greer Stadium.

Milwaukee Brewers right-hander Zack Greinke, currently on a rehabilitation assignment while recovering from a cracked left rib, made his first start for the Sounds after one rehab outing at Advanced-A Brevard County last Tuesday.

Greinke – who took a no-decision for Nashville – allowed two runs on three hits over 2 2/3 innings, throwing 54 pitches (32 strikes). He walked one batter and struck out two. He is expected to make another rehab start with the Sounds on Friday evening against Albuquerque at Greer Stadium, a 7:05pm contest.

Small arms fire kills 101st Airborne Soldier

 

The CurraheesFort Campbell KY, 101st Airborne DivisionFort Campbell, KY – A 101st Airborne Division Soldier died after being struck by small arms fire April 22nd in Paktika province, Afghanistan.

Sergeant John Paul Castro, 25, of Andrews, Texas was an Infantryman assigned to Delta Company, 1st Battalion, 506th Infantry Regiment, 4th Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault). Water Outages and Road Closures Planned for Greenwood and Crossland Avenues

 

Tuesday, April 26th, 2011

Clarksville Gas and Water DepartmentClarksville, TN – Gas and Water construction crews will turn off water service on Tuesday evening at 6:00pm on Greenwood Avenue from Woodard to Daniel Street and on Crossland Avenue from Gracey to Central Avenue for fire hydrant and water valve replacement work.

One lane of traffic on Crossland will be closed from Gracey to Central and Greenwood Avenue will be closed from Woodard Street to Daniel Street. Work is expected to be complete by 11:00pm.

No change is expected at the policy meeting, but investors will be looking for clues about possible future moves from the Fed. The press conference will help Bernanke to seize the narrative on monetary policy before popular misconceptions can form (as happened in 2010).
