USAA and MWR Celebrate Red, White, and Blue Goes Green Earth Day and Month of the Military Child Family Event

Morale, Welfare and RecreationFort Campbell, KY – What is Red, White, and Blue but goes green? Come out to the USAA and MWR Family Event on April 30th and find out. There will be all kinds of Family fun as MWR partners with Department of Public Works (DPW) Environmental Division to kick off the first outdoor Family Event of the year at Destiny Parks and Pavilions from 12:00pm to 4:00pm.

The event is free and open to all who wish to come out and have a wonderful afternoon filled with inflatables, face painting (for children only), balloon twisting, demonstrations from Estep Wellness Center Belly Dancing and Zumba, performances from the 101st Rendezvous Groove Band, visit from Smokey the Bear, and much more.

Patrons will have the opportunity to participate in a scavenger hunt by visiting select DPW Environmental booths and having the Environmental representatives’ stamp off on their tour card, and throughout the day completed tour cards will be randomly drawn to win prizes.

In addition to crafts, games, and other giveaways for the whole Family to enjoy there will be a special reading by R.F. Sink Library’s, Mr. Moore, of Dr. Seuss’ The Lorax at approximately 12:50pm and 2:40pm. Food and beverages will be available for purchase from various vendors. Please remember there is no ATM on site and pets are not allowed on site.  

Everyone is encouraged to stick around for the announcement of the winners of the Red, White, and Blue Goes Green High School Photo Contest where a total of $600.00 in cash prizes will be awarded. The photo contest was open to all high school students’ ages 14 through 19 of Fort Campbell, Hopkinsville and Clarksville areas.
