Snodgrass’ 11-strikeouts, Govs late-inning heroics lead to win over Jacksonville State

Austin Peay State University GovernorsJackson, TN – Starter Jack Snodgrass struck out a career-high 11 batters and Austin Peay State University’s baseball team took advantage of two ninth-inning errors to pull off a 4-1 victory against Jacksonville State, Friday night, at the Ohio Valley Conference Baseball Championship at Pringles Park.

The contest got started as a pitcher’s duel with neither team plating a run through the first 6½ innings – the longest scoreless start to an OVC Tournament game since 2001.

Possible Make and Model of Vehicle Involved in Pedestrian Death

 

Clarksville Police DepartmentClarksville, TN – Based on analysis of vehicle parts found at the scene of the pedestrian’s death, the vehicle is believed to be a 1994 GMC Vandura, Utility Van, blue, with an aftermarket paint job. The parts found at the scene were made in the years of 1993 – 1996.
 
The Clarksville Police Department has sent a photo of a 1994 GMC Vandura. This is NOT the van but it may look similar in shape and body style.

Sounds Score Late To Take Homestand Opener, 3-1

 

Nashville SoundsNashville, TN – The Nashville Sounds scored a pair of runs in the bottom of the eighth inning to post a 3-1 victory over the Oklahoma City RedHawks on Friday evening at Greer Stadium in the opener of a four-game series.

With the win, the Sounds (19-28) continued their recent strong play at home, notching the sixth victory in the club’s last eight contests at Greer.

Oklahoma City took a 1-0, first-inning lead against Sounds starter Frankie De La Cruz. Anderson Hernandez singled with one out and later scored on Drew Locke’s two-out RBI double to right-center.

CPD Needs Help Identifying an Unknown Deceased Woman

 

Woman Possibly Struck by a Motor Vehicle

Clarksville Police DepartmentClarksville, TN – The Clarksville Police Department needs the public’s assistance in a death investigation. On May 27th, around 4:02am, an unknown woman was spotted by a passerby laying in a grassy area at the intersection of Dover Road and Charlemagne Blvd. She had sustained multiple injuries, was transported to Gateway by ambulance, and died at the hospital around 7:00am.

The unknown woman is believed to have been walking in the westbound lane of Dover Road when an unknown vehicle struck the woman knocking her into the grassy area. The vehicle then left the scene.

Due to disparate causes of the remaining outages they can be tough to isolate and repair. Mr. Rumsfeld has been visiting military bases nationwide to promote the sale of his book which reached the #1spot on the New York Times Best Seller List. Proceeds from the sale of the books go to charities supporting those serving in the military and their families.

Jazz on the Lawn this Saturday

 

Clarksville, TN – Come down to Beachaven Winery Saturday night, May 28th as they continue celebrating their 24th Anniversary of ‘Jazz on the Lawn’ with Tina Brown.
