APSU Extended Education offers classes for July 1st-31st

Austin Peay State UniversityClarksville, TN – Develop a new skill, explore a new idea, learn a new language, or seek a new career with a class from Austin Peay State University’s Center for Extended and Distance Education. Register early and receive a 10 percent discount on selected courses.

Preregistration is required for each course.

Language courses

English as a Second Language (ESL) Beginning Conversation will meet from 6:00pm–8:00pm, Mondays, July 11th–August 15th at APSU’s McReynolds Building, Room 206. (course $150.00, supply $10.00)

ESL Intermediate Business English will meet from 6:00pm–8:00pm, Tuesdays, July 12th– August 16th at APSU’s McReynolds Building, Room 206. (course $150.00, supply $10.00)

ESL Advanced Grammar and Writing will meet from 6:00pm–8:00pm, Thursdays, July 14th–August 18th at APSU’s McReynolds Building, Room 206. (course $150.00, supply $10.00)

ESL Intermediate Conversation will meet from 9:00am–11:00am, Saturdays, July 16th–August 20th at APSU’s McReynolds Building, Room 206. (course $150.00, supply $10.00)

Business

DOR—Tennessee Business Tax Seminar and Workshop will meet from 8:00am–5:00pm, Tuesday, July 26th at APSU’s Morgan University Center, rooms 303-305. (workshop fee $130.00)

Tennessee Small Business Development Center

Writing a Business Plan workshop will meet from 9:00am–12:30pm Tuesday, July 12th at the Dickson County Public Library. (free)

Starting and Financing a Small Business workshop will meet from 9:00am– noon, Tuesday, July 26th at the ACS-ACAP Center, Fort Campbell, KY. (free)

Veterans Outreach Seminar will meet from 9:00am–11:00am, Tuesday, July 26th at Montgomery County Civic Hall. (free)

Parenting, health and safety

Phlebotomy Technician Certificate Information Session will meet from 6:30pm–7:30pm, Tuesday, July 19th at APSU’s McReynolds Building, Room 219. (free)

Pharmacy Technician Training Information Session will meet from 6:30pm–7:30pm, Wednesday, July 20th at APSU’s McReynolds Building, Room 219. (free)

Parenting and Divorce, the court-mandated seminar for divorcing parents, will meet in Dickson County from 6:00pm–10:00pm, Tuesday, July 19th at the Renaissance Center, Room 217.  (course $35.00, text $15.00)

Parenting and Divorce, the court-mandated seminar for divorcing parents, will meet in Montgomery County from 9:00am–1:00pm, Saturday, July 9th and again on July 30th at APSU’s McReynolds Building, Room 219. (course $35.00, text $15.00)

The Center partners with Montgomery Rider Education Program in offering a motorcycle rider safety course. For more information or to register, contact the program director, Dee Gleason, at 931-648-2208 between 9:00am and 4:00pm, weekdays.

The Center also offers year-round online certificate programs in administrative dental assistant, administrative professional with MOS, business marketing design, Cisco CCNA, digital arts, entrepreneurship, event management and design, forensic computer examiner, grant writing, graphic design, HVAC, home inspection, interior design, lean mastery, medical transcription, medical billing and coding, multimedia design, paralegal certification, personal fitness trainer, pharmacy technician, project management, records management, travel agent, wedding planner and many more. Financial aid is available for many of these courses.
