All three Govs MLB draftees sign, assigned to Minor League Clubs

Austin Peay State University GovernorsClarksville, TN – Each of the three Austin Peay State University baseball players selected in Major League Baseball’s 2011 First-Year Player Draft have signed contracts and been assigned to minor league teams.

Jack Snodgrass, a 27th-round pick by the San Francisco Giants, was sent to the Salem-Keizer (OR) Volcanoes of the short-season Class A Northwest League. He made his first professional appearance June 16th and currently has two appearances to his credit.

Jeremy Dobbs, a 33rd-round pick by the Seattle Mariners, elected to forgo his senior campaign at Austin Peay, signing June 20th, and was assigned to the Pulaski (VA) Mariners of the Rookie Appalachian League.

Ryne Harper, a 37th-round pick by the Atlanta Braves, has reported to the Braves’ Gulf Coast League affiliate in Florida. He picked up a win in his first professional appearance, Wednesday, striking out four in two innings against the Phillies GCL affiliate.
