July Eagle Remembrance Ceremony Planned

Fort Campbell KY, 101st Airborne DivisionFort Campbell, KY – A remembrance ceremony honoring Soldiers from the 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) and Fort Campbell, is scheduled for 4:00pm July 13th at the 101st Airborne Division Headquarters.

Remembrance ceremonies are held to honor fallen Soldiers deployed in support of Operations Iraqi and Enduring Freedom and are held monthly, as needed.

The July ceremony will honor the following fallen Fort Campbell Soldiers:

Sergeant 1st Class Charles Lewis Adkins, 35, of Sandusky, OH

Charles AdkinsSergeant 1st Class Charles Lewis Adkins, died April 16th as a result of a suicide attack during a meeting on Forward Operating Base Gamberi, Nangarhar province, Afghanistan.

Adkins was a Maintenance Supervisor assigned to Headquarters and headquarters Company, 101st Special Troops Battalion, 101st Sustainment Brigade, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault), Fort Campbell, Ky. He joined the Army in November 1995 and arrived at Fort Campbell in June 2002.

Adkins is survived by his wife, Sarah C. Adkins; sons, Garrhett C. Adkins and Gavin M. Adkins; daughters, Makayla R. L. Adkins, Mackenzie S. Adkins and Gabriella G. Adkins, all of Clarksville, Tenn. He is also survived by his parents, Charles E. Adkins of Milan, Ohio and Shelia Good of Hudson, Mich.

Sergeant Linda Lamou Pierre, 28, of Immokalee, FL

Linda PierreSergeant Linda Lamou Pierre, died April 16th as a result of a suicide attack during a meeting on Forward Operating Base Gamberi, Nangarhar province, Afghanistan.

Pierre was a Human Resources Specialist assigned to Headquarters and headquarters Company, 101st Special Troops Battalion, 101st Sustainment Brigade, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault), Fort Campbell, Ky. She joined the Army in November 2006 and arrived at Fort Campbell in September 2009. Pierre is survived by her father, Jean Lamour and mother, Elvina Pierre, both of Immokalee, FL.

Staff Sergeant Ergin Vidot Osman, 35, of Harrison Township, MI

Ergin OsmanStaff Sergeant Ergin Vidot Osman, died May 26th of wounds suffered when insurgents attacked his unit with an improvised explosive device in Kandahar province, Afghanistan. Osman was an Infantryman, assigned to Fox Company, (Pathfinder), 4th Battalion, 101st Aviation Regiment, 159th Combat Aviation Brigade, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault), Fort Campbell, KY. He joined the Army in March 1998 and arrived at Fort Campbell in April 2007. Osman is survived by his wife, Private 1st Class Kristin Osman of Hopkinsville, KY and sons, Aidan and Zeren Osman of Saint Clair Shores, Mich. He is also survived by his father, Mike Osman of Birmingham, AL; mother, Sarah Osman of Township, MI and step mother Tonya Osman.

Specialist Adam James Patton, 21, of  Port Orchard, WA

Adam PattonSpecialist Adam James Patton, died May 26th of wounds suffered when insurgents attacked his unit with an improvised explosive device in Kandahar province, Afghanistan.  Patton was an Infantryman assigned to Fox Company, (Pathfinder), 4th Battalion, 101st Aviation Regiment, 159th Combat Aviation Brigade, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault), Fort Campbell, KY. He joined the Army in June 2008 and arrived at Fort Campbell in October 2008.  Patton is survived by his mother, Sandra Kottre, Port Orchard, WA.

Sergeant Louie Ramosvelazquez, 39, of Camy, Puerto Rico

Louis RamosvelazquezSergeant Louie Ramosvelazquez, died May 26th of wounds suffered when insurgents attacked his unit with an improvised explosive device in Kandahar province, Afghanistan.  Ramosvelazquez was a Combat Medic assigned to Fox Company, (Pathfinder), 4th Battalion, 101st Aviation Regiment, 159th Combat Aviation Brigade, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault), Fort Campbell, Ky. He joined the Army in December 2006 and arrived at Fort Campbell in September 2007. Ramosvelazquez is survived by his wife, Yesina Ramosvelazquez; daughter, Sheila Ramosvelazquez Hernandez; son, Louie Ramosvelazquez Hernandez, step son, Pedro Hernandez Hernandez, all of Fort Campbell, KY. He is also survived by mother, Rosie Rolon of Ridgewood, NY; father, Louie Ramosvelazquez of Camuy, Puerto Rico and step mother, Rosa Ramosvelazquez.

Staff Sergeant Edward David Mills, 29, of New Castle, PA

Edward MillsStaff Sergeant Edward David Mills, died May 26th of wounds suffered when insurgents attacked his unit with an improvised explosive device in Kandahar province, Afghanistan.  Mills was an Infantryman, assigned to Fox Company, (Pathfinder), 4th Battalion, 101st Aviation Regiment, 159th Combat Aviation Brigade, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault), Fort Campbell, KY. He joined the Army in January 2005 and arrived at Fort Campbell in November 2005. Mills is survived by his spouse, Amanda Brenner and mother, Kathie L. Greenawalt, both of New Castle, PA.  He is also survived by his father, Edward Mills.

Corporal Brandon M. Kirton, 25, of Centennial, CO

Brandon KirtonCorporal Brandon M. Kirton, 25, of Centennial, CO, died after being struck by small arms fire and indirect fire May 18th in Kandahar province, Afghanistan. Kirton was an Infantryman assigned to Charlie Company, 2nd Battalion, 502nd Infantry Regiment, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault). He joined the Army in January 2008 and arrived at Fort Campbell in July 2008.  Kirton is survived by his father, Robert C. Kirton and mother, Kathleen A. Kirton, both of Parker, CO. He is also survived by his daughter, Heaven Kirton of Centennial, CO.
