Clarksville, TN – On July 5th, 2011, at approximately 11:30pm, Clarksville Police report that a single vehicle crash occurred on North Meadow Drive sending three occupants to the Hospital. Craig D. Bawcum, 2190 Memorial Drive, age 22, was driving a 2001 Oldsmobile Intrigue, 4 door, white in color, westbound on North Meadow Drive.
The vehicle was driven off the right side of the roadway where the driver lost control and struck a utility pole. Mr. Bawcum was transported to Gateway Medical Center for non- life threatening injuries. The front seat passenger, Tony D. Black, 204 Centennial Drive, age 24, was transported to Gateway for non-life threatening injuries.
The rear seat passenger, Harley Daniel Bronaugh, 1547 Golf Club Lane, age 20, was transported initially to Gateway Medical Center and then flown by Lifeflight to Vanderbilt.
As of 5:50am, Mr. Bronaugh was listed in critical condition.
It appears that Mr. Tony Black was the only occupant wearing his seatbelt.
The investigation is ongoing. Speed does appear to be a factor.
