19 year old female arrested for DUI

Clarksville Police DepartmentClarksville, TN – On July 24th, 2011 at 6:28pm, Officer Leo Kryszewski responded to a crash with injuries at Hay Market Road and Dunbar Cave Road. The driver, Briana Jnai Ellis,19 was driving a 2008 Honda westbound on Dunbar Cave Road exceeding the posted speed limit of 40 mph (estimates are between 60 and 80 mph) when a vehicle in front of her slowed and started to turn left.

To avert a collision, Ellis passed on the left, swerved across the centerline, lost control of her vehicle, ran off the road, traveled 163 feet into a ditch, hit a culvert, and went airborne doing a 360 Degree roll in the air. While in the air the vehicle collided with and cut off a utility pole. The vehicle came to rest 16 feet from the utility pole.
 
During the course of the investigation into the crash, Officer Kryszewski discovered that Ellis had consumed alcohol and taken a prescription pain killer prior to driving the vehicle. He also found out that Ellis was driving on a Tennessee Learners permit which had been issued July 22nd, 2011. Ellis sustained minor injuries.
