The Kentucky Reptile Expo is coming to Bowling Green, Kentucky

Bowling Green, KY – If you love reptiles and amphibians, you will not want to miss the Kentucky Reptile Expo on August 6th, 10:00am to 4:00pm at the Carroll Knicely Conference Center on the Western Kentucky University campus in Bowling Green, Kentucky.

Jarrod Greer purchased Kentucky Reptile Expo about five years ago.  At that time, it had been held in Shelbyville, Kentucky.  Greer moved it to Shepherdsville about a year later.  Last year, Greer decided to turn it into a traveling reptile expo for 2011 and has done successful shows in Hopkinsville, Bowling Green, Shepherdsville, Corbin and other cities in Kentucky.

For those who attended the first Bowling Green show earlier in the year, you will remember the wonderful reptiles and amphibians on display and for sale at the expo.  This show will be no exception with vendors such as Jela’s Phat Phibs and Badass Beardies, Reptiliacs, Taylor Made Morphs, Luther Robinson, Chad Duggan, Jaime Pickett, Maurice’s Exotic Pets, House of Reptiles and many more.

Some of the reptiles and amphibians you can expect to find include chameleons, bearded dragons, frogs, ball pythons, redtail boas, geckos, Angolan pythons, and the list is endless.  For the discriminating picky eater, there will be crickets for sale as well as dubias, an insect which is a very good source of protein for your lizard or frog.

One of my favorite vendors is Jela’s Phat Phibs and Badass Beardies.  Well, to be honest, their Giant African Pyxie frog Showtime is my favorite.  While at the show, a visit to see Showtime is a must.  I visited with him for for months at several shows and finally decided to purchase one of his kin, a Giant African Pyxie frog that I’ve named Tank.
