Sidney, who had played for Govs head coach Rick Christophel when he was a UAB assistant coach, joined the APSU staff in Fall 2008 when immigration issues sidelined Granville Eastman. After Eastman returned for 2009, Sidney remained as secondary coach in both the 2009-10 seasons. This spring, Sidney was shifted to cornerbacks coach with Eastman taking over as safeties coach.

At least temporarily, Eastman now will take on both duties of coaching the cornerbacks and safeties, something he previously has done successfully.

Sidney joined APSU’s staff after working in private construction following a six-year NFL career that saw him play for the Houston Oilers/Tennessee Titans, Buffalo Bills and the Detroit Lions.
