Swan Lake Manager Jeff Vaughn described 14 of the 18 greens as being in excellent condition. “The other four greens are not in bad shape, they’re just not quite up to the same condition as the rest. They have a few thin spots, but they all will continue to grow in,” he said.

On June 20th, the municipal golf course at 581 Dunbar Cave Road closed so a Texas company could began replacing the Bent Grass on the greens with the Championship Bermuda, which is more heat tolerant and widely used across the southern U.S.

“At this time of year, all of our greens would be brown with the Bent Grass,” Vaughn said. “We’re very pleased with how the new greens are coming in.”

Cost for the green replacement was $53,000.

The 18-hole course returns to regular hours of 7:30am until dusk during the week and from 7:00am until dusk on weekends. Tee times may now be reserve seven days in advance.
