Crash with Fuel Tanker Sends One to the Hospital

Clarksville Police DepartmentClarksville, TN – On September 5th, 2011, around 10:30am, a Ford F-150 pickup driven by Hermelindo Pascual, 45, of Clarksville, was southbound on Wilma Rudolph Boulevard, was making a left turn onto Dunbar Cave Road, and failed to yield to a fuel tanker (it was empty), driven by Robert Hurt, 41, of Elkton, Ky traveling north on Wilma Rudolph Boulevard.

Hurt could not stop the fuel tanker in time and collided with the F-150.

After the collision, the F-150 was spun around and came to rest in the southbound lane of Wilma Rudolph Boulevard. According to witnesses, both vehicles had green lights, but Pascal turned in front of the tanker.

There was a Nissan Sentra not directly involved in the collision, traveling southbound, that was hit by the bumper from the F-150 after the crash. 
 
Robert Hurt and the 17 year old driver of the Nissan were uninjured.
 
Pascal was taken by Lifeflight to Vanderbilt with possible chest injuries. He was in critical, but stable condition. Pascal was wearing a seatbelt.
 
Pascal will be charged with Driving on a Revoked License, Failure to Yield, and No Insurance.
