Fort Campbell, KY – The city of Oak Grove will be one of many worthy organizations given a helping hand on Friday, September 15th when Lend Lease and Campbell Crossing hosts its 16th annual Community Day.
Lend Lease Community Day encourages all employees around the world to give something back to local communities.
Community Day helps to develop strong community partnerships, giving employees a chance to apply skills where they are most needed. Employees unanimously agree – this builds strong camaraderie and teamwork, and is an immensely rewarding experience.
Employees are invited to nominate a project and create small teams to work with the community group or cause. Activities can include helping senior citizens, the homeless people, people with disabilities, the environment, working with children/youth and animals. Around 15 employees from Lend Lease and Campbell Crossing will partner with Oak Grove to work on the Oak Grove Welcome sign on Highway 41-A North.
The Oak Grove welcome sign will receive some fresh landscaping to include native plant and shrubs that will require minimal upkeep.
“We appreciate the people of Oak Grove for all they do for Soldiers and Families who come to Fort Campbell. For some this is the first impression of what life will be like in the Fort Campbell area,” said Community Day team leader, Tressa Hall. “We felt this project was a great way to say ‘thank you’ to Oak Grove.”
This is Lend Lease’s 16th consecutive Community Day, and since the initiative began in 1996, employees have volunteered over 500,000 hours worldwide.
