Five Found Deceased at Clarksville Speedway

Clarksville Police DepartmentClarksville, TN – On September 18th, 2011, around 11:43 am, officers responded to the Clarksville Speedway, 1600 Needmore Road about three men and two women being found deceased inside of a camper trailer. When Police arrived they found five people inside of the camper deceased.

The area was cordoned off and a crime scene established. There has been nothing at this point to indicate foul play, but since it is an unattended death, it is being investigated as a homicide. The deceased were removed from the camper and sent to the medical examiner’s office in Nashville. The age range of the deceased is 27-39.

There has been speculation that carbon monoxide may have been a factor in this tragic death. The carbon dioxide aspect is being considered as part of the investigation, but at this juncture, we are not limiting the scope of the investigation and are considering all possibilities.

The victims were all part of the Bikers Who Care organization. The BWC had completed their annual Bikers Who Care run on September 17th and were at the Speedway in a celebration of camaraderie and brotherhood.

The names will be released tomorrow pending notification of family.

The lead investigator is Detective Demone Chestnut.
