Nashville, TN – An inmate who escaped from a Nashville work-release facility is back in the Department of Correction custody. Romeous Lockridge, 28, was arrested by TDOC agents after he showed up at a North Nashville hospital seeking medical treatment.

Lockridge escaped from the Charles Bass Correctional Complex-Annex around 9:00pm Monday night. He was back in custody less than eight hours later. An employee at the Skyline Medical Center notified police when Lockridge arrived there early this morning with multiple lacerations and a broken arm, injuries he is believed to have sustained while scaling a razor-wire fence.

“The capture of his inmate reflects our commitment to ensure that any offender, who leaves our custody, whether minimum or maximum-security, is returned as quickly as possible,” said Commissioner Derrick D. Schofield. “TDOC agents, working with local law enforcement, made this capture a top priority as part of our commitment to ensure public safety.”

Lockridge is serving a 16-year sentence for drug and burglary convictions in Davidson County. His sentence was due to expire in 2018.  He will be charged with escape.
