Cookeville, TN – With its second best offensive performance this season, Austin Peay State University’s volleyball team ended a nine-match losing streak with a three-set sweep (25-14, 25-23, 25-17) of Tennessee Tech in Ohio Valley Conference action, Saturday afternoon, at the Eblen Center.

Austin Peay (3-14, 1-5 OVC) trailed just three times in the entire match and never after reaching 11 points. The Lady Govs used 46 kills and a .276 attack percentage – its second best mark this season – in the win.
Tennessee Tech (2-14, 1-5 OVC), which won its first conference match Friday against Tennessee State, saw its offensive struggles continue. The Golden Eagles finished with 35 kills and a .099 attack percentage. However, nearly half of those kills came in a second set they never led but pushed the Lady Govs in a 25-23 set loss.
Junior outside hitter Nikki Doyle led the Lady Govs with a match-best 15 kills and a .244 attack percentage. Senior outside hitter Ilyanna Hernandez added 10 kills while freshman middle blocker Hillary Plybon had nine kills and a .471 attack percentage.
Kelsey Gray had 11 kills and was the only Golden Eagles player to reach double-digit kill territory.
Austin Peay begins a five-match homestand with a 6:00pm, Monday OVC contest against Eastern Kentucky.
