APSU Extended Ed offers Fall Classes

Early Registration Discount on Selected Courses

Austin Peay State UniversityClarksville, TN – Develop a new skill, explore a new idea, learn a new language, or seek a new career with one of the fall classes from Austin Peay State University’s Center for Extended and Distance Education. Register early and receive a 10 percent discount on selected courses.

Preregistration is required for each course.

Languages

Spanish Language & Culture—Part 1 will meet from 6:00pm–8:00pm, Thursdays from October 27th–December 8th at APSU’s McReynolds Building, Room 206. (course $152.00, supply $7.00)

American Sign Language—Part 2 will meet from 6:00pm–8:00pm, Tuesdays from October 25th-November 29th at APSU’s Clement Building, Room 121. (course $123.00, text $65.00, supply $5.00)

ESL – Advanced Grammar and Writing will meet from 6:00pm–8:00pm, Thursdays from October 27th–December 15th at APSU’s McReynolds Building, Room 204. (course $150.00, supply $10.00)

ESL – Intermediate Conversation will meet from 9:00am–11:00am, Saturdays from October 29th– December 17th at APSU’s McReynolds Building, Room 206. (course $150.00, supply $10.00)

ESL – Beginning Conversation will meet from 6:000pm–8:00pm, Mondays from November 7th–December 12th at APSU’s McReynolds Building, Room 206. (course $150.00, supply $10.00)

Computer software applications

MS Excel 2007 Intermediate will meet from 6:00pm–8:00pm, Tuesdays and Thursdays from October 20th–November 3rd at APSU’s McReynolds Building, Room 101. (course $128.00, lab $5.00, supply $5.00)

QuickBooks for Beginners will meet from 6:00pm–8:00pm, Tuesdays and Thursdays from November 8th–17th at APSU’s McReynolds Building, Room 101. (course $108.00, lab $5.00, supply $5.00)

Test prep

Cracking the ACT—ACT Test Prep will meet from 9:00am–11:00am, Saturdays from October 29th–December 3rd at APSU’s McReynolds Building, Room 219. (course $124.00,  text $26.00, lab $5.00)

Professional development

Human Resource Certificate—Part 2 will meet from 6:00pm–8:00pm, Thursdays from October 27th–December 1st at APSU’s Claxton Building, Room 304. Courses need not be taken in sequence.  (course $124.00, text $7.00)

Personal development

Beekeeping for Fun and Profit will meet from 6:00pm–8:00pm, Mondays from October 17th–November 21st at APSU’s McReynolds Building, Room 203. (course $144.00, text $29.00, supply $7.00)

Tennessee Small Business Development Center

Starting and Financing a Small Business will meet from 10:00am– noon, Tuesday, October 25th at Fort Campbell, ACS-ACAP Center. (free)

DHS Child Care Business Orientation will meet from 9:00am–4:30pm, Friday, October 7th at DHS, Veteran’s Plaza, Clarksville. (free)

Parenting, health and safety

American Heart Healthcare Provider CPR will meet from 8:00am–3:00pm, Saturday, October 22nd at APSU’s McReynolds Building, Room 219. (course $75.00)

Parenting and Divorce, the court-mandated seminar for divorcing parents, will meet in Dickson County from 9:00am–1:00pm, Saturday, October 15th and again on November 5th at the Renaissance Center, Room 217. (course $35.00, text $15.00)

The Center also offers year-round online certificate programs in administrative dental assistant, administrative professional with MOS, business marketing design, Cisco CCNA, digital arts, entrepreneurship, event management and design, forensic computer examiner, grant writing, graphic design, HVAC, home inspection, interior design, lean mastery, medical transcription, medical billing and coding, multimedia design, paralegal certification, personal fitness trainer, pharmacy technician, project management, records management, travel agent, wedding planner and many more. Financial aid is available for many of these courses.
