Juveniles Caught after Breaking into Northwest High School

Clarksville Police DepartmentClarksville, TN – On October 11th, 2011, around 12:45am, 911 received two separate calls almost simultaneously. One was an alarm activation at Northwest High School and the other was a suspicious activity call from a citizen who heard a banging noise coming from the school and saw two juveniles, possibly with weapons, walking in the rear of the high school.

Officers arrived and started checking the area around the school. Officer Kagan Dindar spotted two juveniles, 15 and 17 years old, running in the area of the baseball field. Officers surrounded the field and, after a short foot pursuit, quickly apprehended the juveniles.

At first, there wasn’t any damage readily apparent, but after further investigation, there was damage found to an exterior door and window. When the juveniles were caught they had socks covering their hands and bandanas around their necks. A baseball bat and a flattened metal pipe were found at the scene.

Initially, it does not appear as though property was taken from the school but it will take a few days to complete an assessment whether anything was taken or not. The 15 year old is a student at the school.

Both juveniles were charged with Burglary and transported to a juvenile detention facility.
