That quartet helped the Govs land first place with 50 points, finishing just ahead of Division II Indianapolis , which scored 58 points. Those two squads dominated the top 15 with no team finishing closer than 50 points.

“We went into this race with a plan and we executed it to a ‘T,’” said head coach Doug Molnar. “Our goal was to have two in the front and the next three within a minute and they did a great job. Tyler Kepley did a great job late in the race to hold off a group of Indianapolis runners who were right behind him.”

Also competing for the Govs were sophomore Genaro Martinez (31st, 28:07.52) and freshman David Frattarelli (63rd, 29:46.72).

Austin Peay will take the next two weeks off before the Oct. 28th Ohio Valley Conference Cross Country Championships in Richmond, KY. and hosted by Eastern Kentucky.
