The Roys Named Inspirational Bluegrass Artist of the Year At 17th Annual ICM Faith, Family & Country Awards

ICM Faith Family & Country Awards Show

Nashville, TN – The Roys were named Inspirational Bluegrass Artist of the Year during tonight’s 17th Annual ICM Faith, Family & Country Awards show.  Siblings Lee and Elaine performed “That’s What Makes It Love,” with special guests Ricky Skaggs and The Whites, before a sold-out crowd.

The song is from The Roys’ current CD, “Lonesome Whistle”, which was recorded at Skaggs Place Studio and released in March on Rural Rhythm Records. The Awards show was held at Nashville’s Schermerhorn Symphony Center, and co-hosted by GAC-TV’s Storme Warren and Inside Edition’s Megan Alexander.

Richards named all-conference, Lady Govs finish 7th at OVC Championships

 

APSU Sports Information: APSU Cross Country

Austin Peay State University Lady GovsRichmond, KY – Sophomore Xiamar Richards finished 10th, but Austin Peay State University women’s cross country team slipped to a seventh-place finish at the Ohio Valley Conference Cross Country Championships, Saturday, at The Arlington Course.

Richards finished the five-kilometer course in 18:41.49 and earned second-team all-conference honors. She improved on last season’s 25th-place finish at the championships and posted her season’s fifth top-10 finish.

Nashville, TN – The Tennessee Department of Safety and Homeland Security early Saturday morning enforced a revised state policy that makes the Legislative Plaza, War Memorial Courtyard, and Capitol grounds areas closed to the public from 10:00pm until 6:00am daily.

Austin Peay Athletics shows steady progress in latest NCAA Graduation success report

Austin Peay State UniversityClarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University’s athletics department received its annual NCAA graduation success rate report, which included the current federal graduation rates for each of the department’s 13 sports.

According to the NCAA’s graduation success rate (GSR), Austin Peay graduated 73 percent of its student-athletes who entered college in 2001, improving on its percentage from the previous year (71 percent). Department of Safety and Homeland Security enforces State’s revised policy on Legislative Plaza Curfew

 

Protestors asked to leave Legislative Plaza, State Troopers make 29 Arrests

Tennessee Department of SafetyNashville, TN – The Tennessee Department of Safety and Homeland Security early Friday morning enforced a revised state policy that makes the Legislative Plaza, War Memorial Courtyard, and Capitol grounds areas closed to the public from 10:00pm until 6:00am daily. The revised policy also states there shall be no overnight occupancy of the state properties.

The Tennessee Highway Patrol, which provides security for Legislative Plaza, War Memorial Courtyard, and the Capitol grounds, asked Occupy Nashville protestors to leave the Legislative Plaza at 3:10am. Section of College Street to be Closed

 

Sunday, October 30th, 2011 – 6:00am

Clarksville Gas and Water DepartmentClarksville, TN – Clarksville Gas and Water construction crews will close all lanes of College Street from Drane Street to North Seventh Street at 6:00am Sunday morning for water main maintenance. University Avenue will also be closed from Main Street to College Street. Both streets will be closed to traffic and will be reopened by 4:00pm when work is expected to be complete. 

Motorists will be detoured to Seventh and Main streets.

Music Icon Ricky Skaggs Named Entertainer of the Year and Musician of the Year the 17th Annual ICM Faith, Family & Country Awards

 

ICM Faith Family & Country Awards ShowNashville, TN – Music icon Ricky Skaggs was named Entertainer of the Year and Musician of the Year at tonight’s 17th Annual ICM Faith, Family & Country Awards Show.
