Austin Peay State University GovernorsClarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University’s baseball team has found a bevy of talented players in its visits to the St. Louis area and adds another to its roster, announcing that Tommy Hager, of O’Fallon, MO, has signed a national letter of intent, Tuesday.

Hager, a 6-0, 185-pound outfielder, batted .415 with 14 doubles, two home runs and 28 RBI last season at Fort Zumwalt West High School.

He earned first-team all-conference honors and was a first-team all-district selection. Hager enters his senior campaign as a Perfect Game USA Preseason Underclass Honorable Mention All-America selection.

“Lately St. Louis has been really good to us in recruiting as we have been able to sign multiple players, who are extremely talented and have been very productive once arriving here on campus,” said Austin Peay head coach Gary McClure. “Tommy is an exciting athlete, who has an extremely smooth swing. We believe he is going to really hit throughout his entire career here at Austin Peay. He can really play in the outfield and could play first base. His defensive prowess really makes him a complete player, so he can really help our team.”

Hager has steadily improved each year at Fort Zumwalt West. He batted .300 with 12 RBI as a freshman. Hager was then an all-conference honorable mention selection after batting .375 with 16 RBI as a sophomore.
