Egbert contract not renewed as Austin Peay Volleyball coach

Clarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University athletics has announced it will not renew the contract of head volleyball coach Bill Egbert.

That announcement was made Monday.

Egbert just concluded his first season as the Lady Govs volleyball coach, which saw APSU record an 11-20 overall record and fail to qualify for the Ohio Valley Conference tournament after finishing with a 9-11 league mark.

This came a year after the Lady Govs captured the OVC tournament championship and made their first-ever NCAA tournament appearance.

He became APSU’s eighth head coach in March, replaced Haley Janicek, who resigned after the 2010 season for personal reasons.

“We appreciate Bill’s service and contributions and we wish him the best in his future endeavors,” APSU Assistant Athletics Director Cheryl Holt said.

Austin Peay immediately will begin a search for a replacement.
