Tennessee State Representative Johnson announces road improvements slated for Montgomery County

The Seal of the State of TennesseeNashville, TN – Representative Curtis Johnson (R-Clarksville) today released information he received from the Tennessee Department of Transportation regarding an update on state road projects in Montgomery County. The report includes an update on Exit 11 on Interstate I-24 near Sango Road where the engineering is now underway.
 
“I am very pleased that we are moving on the Exit 11 / Sango Road Project on I-24,” said Representative Johnson. “This is important to many citizens in our area due to an increase in traffic and more accidents occurring at this intersection. When completed, this project should help relieve congestion and make this intersection safer.”


Johnson, who is Secretary of the House Finance Committee, receives quarterly reports from the Department of Transportation regarding the progress of road projects in the county. He utilizes this information to monitor the developments as progress is made, as well as to work on helping secure the next phase of funding.
 
“Good roads are essential to our citizens, both for safety and economic development,” added Johnson.  “I will continue to work with our local officials to improve our local roads.”

  • SR-112 US-41A / MCADOO CREEK ROAD TO SR-76, EAST OF CLARKSVILLE / Length – 3.0 (Widen) / The right-of-way and/or utility process is underway.
  • SR-374(WARFIELD BLVD), SOUTH OF DUNBAR CAVE ROAD TO WEST OF STOKES ROAD / Length – 1.7 (Widen) / The right-of-way and/or utility process is underway.
  • SR-374 / INTERSECTION AT EVANS ROAD, LM 12.93 IN CLARKSVILLE / Length – 0.6 (Miscellaneous Safety Improvements) / The engineering is underway.
  • SR-374, FROM SR-76 TO SR-149; SR-149, FROM PROPOSED SR-374 TO RIVER ROAD / Length – 8.2 (Environmental Studies) / The environmental studies are underway.
