Clarksville, TN – A woman has been charged with Aggravated Child Abuse after Police investigated a December 19th, 2011, Department of Children’s Services’ referral in reference to an allegation of child abuse of a one month child who had been transported to Vanderbilt Childrens Hospital in Nashville, TN.
On December 19th, 2011, a one month old child was admitted to Vanderbilt and medical personnel determined the child was suffering from a fractured skull and ribs, and had a brain bleed.

Detective Demone Chestnut interviewed the mother, Penselyn Loyola, who stated over the last 30 days she had dropped her child three times. She recalled that incidents occurred when the child was dropped down a flight of stairs in the home and twice in the shower while she was trying to bathe the one month old child.
She also revealed the one month old was also recently hit in the head with a game controller. At no time did Penselyn Loyola seek medical attention for the child nor did she communicate these incidents to her husband.
The child is listed as medically unstable and several test are still pending.
The lead investigator is Detective Demone Chestnut.
