Clarkville Police arrest 2 Adults and 2 Juveniles for damaging the Indoor Aquatic Center

Clarksville Police DepartmentClarksville, TN – The Clarksville Indoor Aquatic Center, 166 Cunningham Lane was targeted and damaged twice over a two day period.  Police took two separate reports in reference to vandalism and burglary to the Aquatic Center which took place between January 4th and 6th.

On January 4th/5th, it appears as though entry was not actually made inside of the center but the damage was done primarily to the exterior dome.

On January 6th, 2012, around 1:30am, there was an alarm activation at the Aquatic Center. When officers arrived, they found the outside dome cover had been cut in multiple places and entry had been made into the facility.

Officers found that tables, chairs, trash cans had been thrown in the pool, and the letters BSST was spray painted inside. There was thousands of dollars worth of damage done to the Aquatic Center. There was no one found in or around the facility when officers arrived.

Around 3:20am, Sgt Mike Caver was patrolling on Evans Road and saw four individuals, two juveniles (17) and two adults (18) crouched down or sitting in driveway a couple feet of the roadway and stopped to talk with them. After making contact with them, he found they all had knives and the juveniles had paint residue on their hands.

All four were taken to the north precinct and the case was turned over to Detective Kevin Shaw. During the course of Detective Shaw’s interview, all four admitted to committing the Vandalism and Burglary to the Aquatic Center on January 6th. But, as of yet, the responsibility for the January 4th/5th Vandalism has not been definitively tied to the four men.

The two juveniles have been charged with Burglary and transported to a juvenile detention facility. Additional charges pending.

The investigation is ongoing and the lead investigator is Detective Kevin Shaw.
