Austin Peay State University Employees cite their various accomplishments

Austin Peay State UniversityClarksville, TN – Several faculty and staff members as well as some students at Austin Peay State University announce their recent professional and scholarly activities.

Dr. Harvey F. Blanck, emeritus professor of chemistry, had an article, titled “Using Plastic Models Designed to Produce Large Height to Length Ratio Steady State Planar and Axisymmetric (Radial) Viscous Liquid Laminar Flow Gravity Currents,” published in the most recent edition of the Journal of Chemical Education.

Dr. Dixie Dennis, associate provost of grants and sponsored research and dean of the College of Graduate Studies, will have her article, titled “The Value of CHES (and now MCHES)? – A Commentary,” published in the American Journal of Health Education. It is tentatively scheduled for the May-June 2012 issue. 

Dr. Chinyere Ogbonna-McGruder, associate professor of public management and criminal justice and program manager of criminal justice, and her students have produced a couple of articles recently. She, with students Eric Martin and Tony Armstrong, had an article, titled “Revisiting Brown versus Board of Education: 57 Years Later,” published in the December 2011 edition of the Review of Higher Education and Self-Learning.

Ogbonna-McGruder, with students Eric Martin and John Taylor, also had an article, titled “Co-Relationship between Commercial Bail Bond Industry and Tennessee Jail Populations,” published in the January 2012 edition of the Journal of Global Intelligence and Policy – JGIP.

In addition, both articles were presented as papers at the Intellectbase Conference held in October 2011 in Atlanta, GA Ogbonna-McGruder received a grant from the University’s Student Academic Success Initiative, making it possible for five of her public management/criminal justice students to travel and present with her at the conference.
