Clarksville Police Department releases Names in fatal accident.

Clarksville Police DepartmentClarksville, TN – Clarksville has recorded it’s first traffic fatality of 2012, after a violent head on crash occurred Friday in the 1500 block of Madison Street.

The driver of one of the two cars, 20 year old Tyler J. Head of Springfield died at the scene.  A passenger in his vehicle, 19 year old Lucas P. Haley, also of Springfield, is in critical but stable condition at a Nashville hospital.  The driver of the other vehicle, a Dodge Durango, named Vincent D. Clark of Clarksville, and a passenger in his vehicle, Denesha M. Clark were also injured.  Vincent Clark is in stable condition, while Denesha has been released.

Witnesses at the scene have told investigators that the Dodge Durango crossed into the oncoming traffic and collided head-on with the truck driven by the deceased.  The occupants of the Durango were wearing seat belts, while the occupants of the pick-up truck were not.

 

Traffic was closed for hours while emergency responders worked the scene.  There were five EMS units that responded to the accident, while Clarksville Fire Rescue, Clarksville Police all responded.

Sources tell Clarksville Online that there was an odor of alcohol at the scene, and beer cans were found in the Durango, but confirmation of that has not been given by investigators.  Clarksville Police indicate that charges are pending in the case, but would not indicate who may have been at fault.

The investigation is ongoing.
