Clarksville, TN – Prom-O-Rama has come to Clarksville and a rainbow of color is flowing through Miller-Motte Technical College’s (MMTC) campus these days. Dozens and dozens of prom dresses are being collected at MMTC. In an effort to keep costs down for Montgomery County high school girls attending their proms, MMTC is collecting prom dresses from ladies in the community that wish to sell dresses they will no longer wear but would like to sell.
Some of the dresses registered to sell are brand new with the tags still on them. Some are gently worn. Each person wanting to sell their dress can bring their dress to Miller-Motte and set the price they want to receive for their dress. Dresses can be brought to campus all this week with Thursday, February 24th as the last day to register them for sale.Miller-Motte is not making any money from this event because the event is designed as a commmunity service to help teenage girls and their families find a beautiful dress at a cost they can afford. All of the money received for the dresses goes to the seller. Prices will vary as each seller sets the prices, but they are much less then buying a dress at a retail store.
Maria Scott is the High School Presenter for Miller-Motte and the organizer of the event. “We are so excited to offer this opportunity to the Clarksville community. Every girl should feel like a princess at their prom regardless of how much their budget is. We have dresses that retail in the $200.00-$600.00 range being sold anywhere from $35.00 to $150.00! We will have dresses in a variety of shapes, colors and sizes.
This is also a great opportunity for ladies to sell their dress and get extra cash, while helping someone else find a beautiful dress for less. Miller-Motte Technical College will not profit from this event. 100% of the proceeds from the sale of dresses will go to the seller. We are simply hosting this event to benefit our community,” said Scott.
If you are interested in selling your formal gown please contact Maria Scott for more information at 931.553.0071 or maria.scott@miller-motte.edu. The deadline to register your dress is Thursday, February 24th, 2012.
If you are looking for a deal on a gorgeous prom dress, stop by the Miller-Motte campus to find gowns in a variety of sizes and styles, at amazing prices, and take home one that is perfect for you.
Miller-Motte’s is committed to the community and it’s student and their motto, “Changing Futures. Changing Lives,” are not just words or a slogan, it’s what they do.
