O’Brein warmed up to start the bottom of the fifth inning, but did not face a batter as he left the mound in some discomfort. The Penguins were forced to bring in reliever Ryan Krokos in an emergency situation and that was the opening the Govs sought.

Shortstop Reed Harper had RBI hits in each inning – a two run single in the fifth and an RBI single in the sixth. The Penguins would add another run in the seventh after third baseman Drew Dosch reached on a wild pitch and scored on Banks single later in the inning to set the final score.

Quick, who went without a decision in his first two starts, notched his season’s first victory after allowing one run over six innings and striking out three. Anderson surrendered the run in the seventh but struck out three in the frame. Kacy Kemmer and Zach Leffew tossed a scoreless eighth and ninth, respectively.
