Clarksville Montgomery County School System selects Clarksville High School Assistant Principal

The Clarksville-Montgomery County School SystemMontgomery County, TN – Shari Tharpe has been selected as the new assistant principal at Clarksville High School, replacing Jean Luna who was named principal.

Mrs. Tharpe’s background is as a science teacher and science department chair at Kenwood High School, where she co-led the integration of Science, Technology, Engineering and Math throughout the district.

She was a presenter at the National Science Teachers Association conference. She earned her B.S. in science from Austin Peay State University and her master’s in educational leadership from Western Governors University.

“I am truly honored to be joining the administrative team at Clarksville High School. I look forward to collaborating with the faculty and staff as we build meaningful relationships with our students and community in an effort to achieve school wide student success,” Mrs. Tharpe said.

“Thank you to Kenwood High principal Hal Bedell, science consulting teacher Dale Rudolph, and Central Office for mentoring me throughout my teaching experience and allowing me to grow and excel as a teacher and as an instructional leader in the Clarksville-Montgomery County School System,” she added.

Mrs. Tharpe was named as the 2011 Distinguished Science Teacher in Middle Tennessee by the Tennessee Academy of Science.
