Hands on Clarksville to host Nonprofit Partnership Network Group Meeting March 14th

Hands On ClarksvilleClarksville, TN – The Clarksville-Montgomery County Nonprofit Partnership Network group will meet on March 14th, 2012 from 10:00am-11:30am at the Clarksville Montgomery County Public Library in the large meeting room. The NPN is a growing coalition of community organizations, businesses, academia and government working together to unify and support the nonprofit community.

Dr. Harry Maddux, Chair of APSU’s Service- Learning Advisory Committee will be guest speaker. Service Learning Programs integrate community service with academic study to enrich learning, teach civic responsibility and strengthen communities.

Nonprofit organizations and college students are a natural fit. Students get a chance to become more involved in the community and gain important hands-on experience, while nonprofits reap the benefits of youthful and knowledgeable volunteers.

Local nonprofits can be an important resource for APSU’s Service Learning Program, but it requires each organization to think outside the box and to develop and expand their service learning opportunities for students. Organizations are encouraged to attend this informational program and learn about opportunities to connect with students.

The Clarksville Montgomery County Public Library is located at 350 Pageant Lane.

RSVP by March 12th, 2012. For more information or to RSVP call 931.551.5450 or email: rarancibia.npn@gmail.com.
