LEAP Organization hosts 3rd Annual Step and Dance Crew Challenge

 

LEAP OrganizationClarksville TN – On March 17th the West Creek High School gym was filled with a diverse representation of the community to observe youth participating in LEAP’s 3rd Annual Step and Dance Crew Challenge.

The hosts for this event were 101.9 the Light radio personality Francesca Hayes, comedian DJ Pryor, and gospel music artist J-Rad. Yolanda Stewart opened with the National Anthem followed by exhibition performances by Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority Inc, HTS APSU Step Team, and Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity Inc. Shoney’s, Lil Caesars, and Wendy’s had mascot who participated in the Mascot dance off with the crowd joining in the cupid shuffle.

First, the Govs  wrap up a four-game road trip with a 6:00pm, Tuesday contest at Lipscomb. Austin Peay then hosts Western Kentucky in a 6:00pm, Wednesday contest at Raymond C. Hand Park.

Clarksville Police charge Man with Aggravated Child Abuse and Neglect after One Year Old found standing alone in the Street

 

Clarksville Police DepartmentClarksville, TN – On March 18th, around 9:15am, a 26 old woman arrived home on Darlene Drive and found a one year old child standing alone in the street. The child had no shoes on, wearing only a t-shirt, and a soiled diaper. The child was covered in mud and wet.

A man who saw the woman approach the child exited his vehicle and said the child had been outside for about 10 minutes but thought that someone was watching the child.

Clarksville Police catch a Burglar in the Act which Leads to Two Being Charged

 

Clarksville Police DepartmentClarksville, TN – On March 15th, 2012, around 1:30am, Clarksville Police Officers patrolling and performing checks of storage units on Tiny Town Road, due to previous burglaries, caught a man in the act of breaking in to several units.

Officer Alan Pendarvis was checking the storage units at 416 Tiny Town Road when he spotted several guns laying on the side of the driveway. He called for back-up officers to the area.
