Clarksville 50+ Olympics to kick off May 8th

OlympicClarksville, TN – Adults at least 50-years-old can register now until April 30 for the 2012 Clarksville 50-Plus Olympics.

This year’s events will be held May 8th-12th at various locations around Clarksville, including The Pinnacle Bowling Center, The Swan Lake Sports Complex and Golf Course, The Indoor Aquatic Center at New Providence and The Kleeman Community Center.

Competitors will face off for bragging rights, as well as medals in more than 20 challenging events, which include shuffleboard, tennis, track, golf, bowling, basketball free throw, pickle ball and indoor swimming events.

The Clarksville 50-Plus Olympics will begin with an opening reception at 11:00am on Tuesday, May 8th, at The Pinnacle Bowling Center located at 430 Warfield Boulevard. The closing dinner and awards ceremony will feature a fun, country-western theme and will be held at 4:00pm on Saturday, May 12th at The Kleeman Community Center.

Dinner tickets are included in the registration cost, but for others who would like to attend the dinner and award ceremony, an $8.00 ticket may be purchased at the Clarksville Parks and Recreation office.

Registration forms are available at the Parks and Recreation office at 102 Public Square or any of our three community centers. The 2012 Clarksville 50-Plus Olympics are sponsored by The Pinnacle Bowling Center, Clarksville Parks & Recreation, Montgomery Care and Rehab Center, Lamar Advertising, The Leaf Chronicle and Uffleman Estates.
