Clarksville, TN – The Tennessee Department of Transportation, in conjunction with the City of Clarksville Street Department, has begun three construction projects to improve the traffic flow through several congested intersections in the Clarksville area.
The following intersections will be experiencing traffic delays and periodic lane closures associated with construction activity:
- Madison Street and Richview Road
- Madison Street and Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard
- Riverside Drive and SR 48/13
These projects will be conducted over the next several months. They will include adding turn lanes, modifying existing lane configurations and modifying the traffic signals. These projects are funded through the Congestion Mitigation and Air Quality program, which is a federal program to improve areas with high congestion, and to also impact to air quality.
These projects are administered through TDOT’s office of local programs and managed locally by the Clarksville Street Department.
