The event kicks off with a 36 holes, Monday, followed by a 18-hole final round, Tuesday. As always, head coach Kirk Kayden has placed his team in a challenging field, which features two teams – Southeastern Louisiana (No.67) and Sam Houston State (No.97) ranked in Golfstat.com’s top-100 nationally.

Other schools in the 17-team field include regional foes Belmont and Western Kentucky, along with Arkansas State, Bowling Green, Eastern Michigan, Illinois State, Missouri State, Oral Roberts, Stephen F. Austin and Weber State.

“This should be a very competitive event,” head coach Kirk Kayden said. “We’re going to have to play well to have a good finish, considering the strength of the field. This is a Robert Trent Jones designed golf course, which means the greens will be two tiered. We have to play smart golf, especially when dealing with our approach shots.”

Austin Peay has played well through two spring tournaments, finishing second at the Samford Intercollegiate and finishing fourth at the Triumph at Pauma Valley. Junior Dustin Korte and sophomore Anthony Bradley have led the Govs, each with a pair of top-10 finishes already in the spring.

Bradley has a team-best 72.5 stroke average, while Korte is just behind him at 73.1 through seven tournaments. They will be joined in the lineup at UALR by sophomores Marco Iten and Trey Tarpley. Freshman Tucker Wallace rounds out the Govs five players.
