Nashville Predators
Nashville, TN – The Nashville Predators are officially playoff bound! The Predators got good news on a couple of fronts Wednesday night, with the Anaheim Ducks’ regulation win over the San Jose Sharks, Nashville has officially locked up a spot for 2012 playoffs.
Further, the Columbus Blue Jackets’ win over the Detroit Red Wings put Nashville just one point behind Detroit in the race for the No. 4 seed and home ice advantage in the first round of the playoffs. The Predators and Red Wings meet in a pivotal game Friday night in Detroit at 6:30pm. Thursday night is a light night of action in the Western Conference with three games involving Conference participants, but only two have an impact on the playoff race.
St. Louis at Chicago – The St. Louis Blues can clinch the Central Division Title with a regulation or overtime win; the Chicago Blackhawks enter 3 points behind Nashville for the No. 5 seed.
San Jose at Phoenix – The Phoenix Coyotes enter 1 point behind San Jose in the race for the No. 8 seed 2 points behind the Dallas Stars for the top spot in the Pacific Division; San Jose enters 1 point behind Dallas for the top spot in the Pacific Division
Florida at Minnesota – Has no impact on the Western Conference Standings

Columbus defeat Detroit, 4-2 – Preds remain 1 point behind the Red Wings in the race for the No. 4 seed
Los Angeles defeat Calgary, 3-0 – With win LA moved from No. 9 seed to No. 7 seed
Dallas defeat Edmonton, 3-1 – With win Dallas moved from No. 7 seed to No. 3 seed
Anaheim defeat San Jose, 3-1 – Preds officially clinch playoff spot; Anaheim was officially eliminated from playoff contention based on other results tonight

St. Louis defeat Nashville, 3-0 – Preds remain in the No. 5 seed
New Jersey defeat Chicago, 2-1 SO – Hawks 3 points behind Preds with 5 games left in regular season
