Austin Peay Governors Tennis lost to the Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders in Sun Belt Shootout

Murfreesboro, TN – The good news was Sean Bailey and Jasmin Ademovic continued to play well at No. 1 and No. 2 singles, Saturday, against Middle Tennessee in the Sun Belt Shootout. The bad news is those two Govs never got the opportunity to finish their respective matches.

The victory improved MTSU to 9-6 on the season while the Govs fell to 7-6.
For the Govs, they could take solace in the fact No. 1 player Bailey won the first set 6-4 and was up 3-2 against Ben Davis in the second when the Blue Raiders clinched the match.
Then at No. 2, Ademovic split the first two sets, 6-4, 1-6, with the Blue Raiders’ Christoph Lang at No. 2 singles and was leading the third set 3-2 when the match ended.
After a brief respite from league play, the Govs will return to Ohio Valley Conference action this week with a trio of late-week matches. The will play at Tennessee Tech on Thursday before playing host to Tennessee State, Friday, and Jacksonville State, Saturday.
