Tennessee Agricultural Enhancement Program Applications Now Available

Farmers Encouraged to Apply for TAEP Funding

Nashville, TN – The Tennessee Department of Agriculture has released the 2012 application for the Tennessee Agricultural Enhancement Program. Applications must be postmarked or hand delivered June 1st – 7th. Do not postmark prior to June 1st.

Old Hickory, TN – Tala Mumford carded her first career hole-in-one, Tuesday, as the Austin Peay State University sophomore fired a final-round 74 to finish tied for fifth in the Belmont Invitational, played at the Old Hickory Country Club.

Clarksville Fire Rescue Department’s Fire Boat performs rescue during initial Voyage

Clarksville, TN – The maiden voyage of the Clarksville Fire Rescue Department’s new boat resulted in a rescue.

The new boat, purchased through a grant awarded to the City, was on its first training cruise on the river. Deputy Chief Howell Albright, Assistant Chief Michael Papke, Assistant Chief Randy Ellis, and Captain Mark Chandler were aboard and discovered a father with his two sons who were stranded on their boat last Thursday afternoon. «Read the rest of this article»

Austin Peay Governors Golf finishes 2nd at Arkansas State Red Wolf Intercollegiate with Four Govs in the Top 20

Clarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University men’s golf team finished second at the ASU Red Wolf Intercollegiate, Tuesday, unable to hold off a furious rally by tourney winner Arkansas-Little Rock.

UALR shot a blistering final-round 274 to finish at 848, while the Govs final-round 285 was good enough for their Spring’s second runner-up finish at 857.

Goaltender Chet Pickard assigned to the Nashville Predators

Nashville, TN – Nashville Predators President of Hockey Operations/General Manager David Poile announced today that goaltender Chet Pickard (CHEHT PIH-kuhrd) has been assigned to the team. The Winnipeg native completed his third professional season with the Predators’ ECHL affiliate Cincinnati Cyclones on Sunday.
