Clarksville Police Officers and Montgomery County Sheriff Deputies joint effort places man with warrant behind bars

Clarksville Police DepartmentClarksville, TN – A man with a warrant for Violation of Community Corrections was taken into custody through a joint effort between City and County Law Enforcement Officers.

Deshawn Antonio Russell was already placed on Community Corrections for Aggravated Burglary, Drugs and Violation of Probation when he was charged with Possession of Burglary Tools and Simple Possession on March 26th, 2012. He was released from jail on bond, March 28th, 2012.

There was a warrant taken out on March 29th, 2012 for Violation of Community Corrections. Officer Nathan Lee-CPD knew Russell had a warrant of file and spotted and approached Russell in the area of Carpenter Street. Russell fled on foot into a wooded area off Ford Street.

Officers surrounded the area, but could not locate him. Deputy Chris Olson, Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office K-9 handler, responded to the area to assist with locating Russell. As the K-9 was searching the wooded area, Sgt Jimmy Brown, Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office, spotted Russell as he jumped up and started running.

Officer Nathan Lee, Clarksville Police Department, chased Russell down and took him in custody.
