Clarksville, TN – In a game that featured 19 pitchers, Austin Peay State University‘s baseball team posted a 10-3 non-conference win against Middle Tennessee, Wednesday night at Raymond C. Hand Park.

Clarksville, TN – Sophomore Andra Cornea, of the Austin Peay State University women’s tennis team, was named the Ohio Valley Conference’s Female Athlete of the Week, the conference office announced Wednesday.

Austin Peay Governors Golf’s Dustin Korte named OVC co-Golfer of the Week

Clarksville, TN – A second-place finish at the COG Mizzou Intercollegiate has earned junior Dustin Korte, of the Austin Peay State University men’s golf team, Ohio Valley Conference co-Golfer of the Week honors.

Korte shot a six-under par at The Club at Old Hawthorne, trailing host Missouri’s Ryan Zech by two shots at the Tigers home tournament. Three shots behind Korte was Missouri’s Jace Long – a 2011 PING Golf All-American – in fifth place. «Read the rest of this article»

Tax Deadline is One Week Away – Need more Time to File?

Washington, D.C. – The Internal Revenue Service today reminded anyone unable to meet next week’s tax deadline that they can easily get an automatic six-month tax-filing extension. And, the easiest and quickest way to get an extension is online through the Free File link on IRS.gov.

In a matter of minutes, anyone, regardless of income, can use this free service to electronically request an automatic extension on Form 4868. Filing this form gives taxpayers until October 15th to file a return. This is an extension of time to file; not an extension of time to pay.

Clarksville Police to conduct Saturation Patrols April 13th and 14th, 2012

Clarksville, TN – The Clarksville Police Department is conducting city-wide impaired driving saturation patrols, partially funded by the Governor’s Highway Safety Office, April 13th and 14th, 2012, 10:00pm – 4:00am.

The intent of saturation patrols is to detect and apprehend impaired drivers through increased traffic enforcement.

Clarksville Gas and Water Department announces Cumberland Drive Lane Closure Planned

Thursday, April 12th, 2012

Clarksville, TN – Clarksville Gas and Water will close the southbound lane on Cumberland Drive from Irving Drive to South Riverside Drive tomorrow at 8:00am. Construction crews will perform natural gas main line maintenance and inspection work until approximately 3:00pm when the road will be reopened.

Traffic will be detoured to Irving Street and Edgehill Drive for access to South Riverside Drive during the work.
