Clarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University’s softball team will close out its non-conference portion of its 2012 schedule on the road, 5:00pm, Wednesday at James & Dorothy Cooper Stadium with a doubleheader versus the University of Evansville.
Clarksville, TN – Saturday, May 5th, the Friends of Dunbar Cave (FODC) are putting on their annual Spring Fling event. FODC is anticipating a good turnout and has planned lots of free activities for the whole family.
The group is still finalizing the schedule, but in past years, the Friends group has put on the following activities at Spring Fling.
Nashville Losing Streak Extends to Nine with Loss to Division Leaders
Papillion, NE – The Nashville Sounds’ early-season woes continued on Tuesday afternoon at Werner Park as the club dropped its ninth straight game, a 5-3 defeat at the hands of the division-leading Omaha Storm Chasers in the finale of a four-game series.
Nashville (4-16), which has been swept in consecutive four-game series by the Oklahoma City RedHawks and Omaha, has matched the longest losing streak in the franchise’s Pacific Coast League era (1998-present) with its current nine-game skid.

Clarksville, TN – The final day of the 2012 Rivers and Spires Festival on Saturday opened with unseasonably cooler weather to the point of being really chilly. Warm coats, hats, and/or gloves were the order of the day. Turnout started out slow, and might have been a little bit depressed over all from previous years as a result, but the people who did come out had a really great time!

Clarksville, TN – Clarksville Mayor Kim McMillan is announcing two new developments toward the opening of Clarksville’s Marina at Liberty Park.
“The developer, Cumberland River, LLC, began mobilizing the slips this week with the first shipment arriving today. As we’ve previously discussed, they are being assembled off-site and are then brought in for installation. The installation process is now underway. This is an important step as we move ever closer to being able to fully use the marina,” Mayor McMillan said.

Clarksville, TN – The Reagan Giving Circle at Austin Peay State University will award scholarships to APSU female students during its first award ceremony next month.
The ceremony will be at 11:30am, Tuesday, May 1st in the Morgan University Center Ballroom. Tickets are $25.00 per person.

Drive Smart to Arrive Alive; National Work Zone Awareness Week April 23rd-27th
Nashville, TN – The Tennessee Department of Transportation is joining states across the nation to remind motorists not to barrel through work zones.
The Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT) will spread that message statewide during National Work Zone Awareness Week (April 23rd-27th) in an effort to improve safety in Tennessee’s interstate and highway construction and maintenance work zones.
