Clarksville, TN – For the second consecutive week, Austin Peay’s baseball team will square off against the team sitting second in the Ohio Valley Conference standings when it hosts Jacksonville State in a three-game series.

The conference set will begin with a 6:00pm, Friday contest before resuming at 2:00pm, Saturday. The two squads will wrap the series with a 1:00pm, Sunday contest.

Tennessee Lady Vols hires new coach

Knoxville, TN – Tennessee head women’s basketball coach Holly Warlick announced today the hiring of her first new staff member as Lady Vol standout Kyra Elzy will be returning to Rocky Top as assistant coach/recruiting coordinator.

Tennessee Titans take wideout Kendall Wright with the 20th pick of the NFL Draft

Nashville, TN – The Tennessee Titans picked Baylor University’s wide receiver Kendall Wright with the 20th overall pick of the 2012 NFL Draft.

Wright caught 198 passes for 1,663 yards in his senior year. He averaged 15.4 yards per catch and pulled in 14 touchdowns. What he lacks in size at 5’10″ he makes up in speed to get down the field. Clarksville Parks and Recreation reopens Valleybrook Park Playground

Clarksville, TN – The City of Clarksville Parks and Recreation Department has reopened Valleybrook Park playgrounds.

The playgrounds had been closed due to the severe weather that resulted in heavy flooding at the park in 2010.

Valleybrook Park was completely submerged during the flood of 2010.

Clarksville, TN – I like many of you will be riveted by the NFL’s Annual Selection Meeting, commonly know as the NFL Draft, broadcasted live today by both ESPN and the NFL Network starting Thursday and ending Saturday.

It’s still so intriguing to me that one of the biggest sporting events of the year is one where the score isn’t kept and the actual outcome isn’t really truly known till three of four years down the road, but I gorge on it as much of it as I can.
