Clarksville Women for Obama hold Affordable Care Act event

Clarksville Women For ObamaClarksville, TN – As part of the national women’s week of action, the Clarksville Women for Obama held a house party at Singleton’s Restaurant to talk about the Affordable Care Act. The purpose of the meeting was to help educate women (and men) on how health care reform is making a difference for them and their families right now and how it is going to help them in the future.

The turnout was great and it gave a lot of women and men in Clarksville the chance to learn more about the Affordable Care Act benefits.

Many of people who attended were not aware that thanks to the Affordable Care Act, millions of women can now get affordable preventive care where they couldn’t before – and that care includes many services, from mammograms to birth control. Most weren’t aware that this new law bars insurance companies from charging women up to 50 percent more than men for coverage.

We all have Grandmothers, mothers, aunts, sisters, nieces, cousins, girlfriends, wives, daughters and friends that could use this very important information said event host Wanda McMoore, so please pass this information on.

Mrs. McMoore also encourage those in attendance to tell at least 5 people in their family about the many benefits of the Affordable Care Act  and to register to vote and to make sure you vote. Whether you’re a woman, a man, or a young American looking to support the President, there’s a way for you to get involved. Join a neighborhood team today: volunteer. www.barackobama.com

Here’s my prediction: “Women are going to make the difference in this election.

There’s a simple reason — we have the most on the line, especially when it comes to health care and our ability to make our own health decisions. From increased access to coverage, to free preventive services, to lower prescription drug costs, and, soon, ending discrimination against women when it comes to health care premiums — the Affordable Care Act protects and benefits American women.

As women, it’s up to us to protect and build on the kind of progress that prevents insurers from discriminating against our daughters, mothers, and friends. We can’t afford to see that legislation repealed”……..First Lady Michelle Obama.
